La déterritorialisation de la pratique artistique urbaine: de l'institutionnalisation à la digitalisation

الملخص

Over the past few decades, urban artistic practice has undergone a radical transformation that has challenged traditional notions of space, territory, and institutionalization. Today, we are witnessing a significant phenomenon: the deterritorialization of this practice, largely influenced by increasing digitization. Once confined to the walls of art galleries and museums, urban artistic expression has taken on a new dimension by escaping physical boundaries and spreading across cities worldwide. In this regard, after marginalization and legal pursuit, street artists are now a part of the system. They are becoming increasingly recognized as they exhibit their works in art institutions and are considered a factor in the development of the cultural industry. Furthermore, the media promotes street art and increases its visibility. Indeed, the digital world offers street artists creative freedom. Virtual walls become infinite canvases where artists can experiment with innovative techniques and ideas. Moreover, thanks to technological advances, digital street art can interactively integrate with the real environment, providing an immersive and unique artistic experience. Additionally, street artists seek to reclaim the streets, and they conquer new technologies that have become an integral part of many street art works, such as Picturae and Water Light Graffiti. Even though urban creations may disappear due to the vagaries of nature or theft, technological developments allow artists or passersby to immortalize the work by sharing it on social networks. Far from the physical constraints of public space, street artists explore the endless possibilities offered by digital tools and online platforms.
