Dr. Iman Ba'lousha & Mr. Mahmoud Abu Tair
Abstract

Children must acquire literacy skills prior to learning to read in order to build proper language and other linguistic skills.

Literacy skills can help students gain the basics of the language through reading as well as using media and technology and improving their technological skills.

Childhood is the best time to start building literacy skills. We can help our children to build pre-reading skills from an early age. In fact, each response we did is considered a part of teaching communication and language.

Literacy is a combination of several skills and knowledge which are able to help children learn to read. It focuses on raising awareness of both language and writing skills.

It also includes understanding the process and purpose of writing. Besides; developing listening comprehension, and phonological awareness. With more and more exposure to language through time; children get aware that reading consists of phonemes (sounds) and graphemes (symbols).

To have a fruitful meaningful experience, it is crucial to raise the motivation and the excitement of children towards reading.

More details will be added soon.
